Nissan Sentra Wheels
Nissan sentra handling can be seriously affected if the offset of the wheel is
not right for the vehicle. Thus proper fitting is needed to install new wheels.
Offset is the distance of the wheel from its hub mounting surface to its centerline.
Changes in the width of the wheels result to numerical change in offset. If not
there would be an uneven splitting between the inside and outside.
Offset can be one of three types, Zero offset, positive and negative. Zero offset
has even distance between the hub mounting surface and the centerline of the wheel.
Positive comes with the hub mounting surface toward the front or wheel side of
the wheel. Positive offset wheels are generally found on front wheel drive cars
and newer rear drive cars. Negative has the hub mounting surface toward the back
or brake side of the wheels centerline. "Deep dish" wheels are typically a negative
offset.
