Nissan Sentra engine
Standard engine type for Nissan Sentra is the 1.6-liter DOHC engine with 115
horsepower at 6000 rpm and 108 lbs.ft of torque at 4000 rpm. It uses sequential
multi-point electronic fuel injection and 4 valves per cylinder Variable valve
timing technology. Two transmission types are available, the 5-speed manual overdrive
transmission with clutch interlock and the -speed automatic overdrive transmission
with shift interlock.
Nissan Sentra models for 1995 to 1997 uses only one engine, the dual-overhead-cam
1.6-liter 4-cylinder rated at 115 horsepower. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard
with optional 4-speed automatic transmission.
For 1998, Nissan added the SE model with 2.0-liter engine rated at 140 horsepower
that can use either the 5-speed manual shift or 4-speed automatic.
