2001 Nissan Sentra

2001 Nissan Sentra is introduced as a 2000 model with more power and greater
performance. It comes in four distinct models: XE, GXE, SE and CA (Clean Air)
with two available engines. XE comes with Nissan's new 126-horsepower 1.8-liter
engine replacing the previous 1.6-liter engine.
Expected to have greater sales is the GXE model powered by the new 1.8-liter
engine with automatic transmission. Added features include cruise control, intermittent
wipers, tachometer, a compact disc stereo, power windows, mirrors and door locks.
The optional side-impact airbags for the front seats is installed for safer rides.
Both car models have rear drum brakes.
Equipped with the larger 145-horsepower twin-cam 2.0-liter engine is the SE model
with optional SE Performance Package. The package includes the 19-inch wheels
with P195/55R16 tires, big rear spoiler, stylish side sills, security system for
protection against thieves and the entertaining 180-watt, seven-speaker sound
system.
The featured CA Sentra CA (Clean Air) model is the first gasoline-fueled vehicle
that meets the CARB Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (SULEV) standards set by
the California Air Resources Board. It comes powered by a 122-horsepower version
of the new 1.8-liter Standard safety features include driver depowered air bag,
passenger depowered air bag, and front head restraint. Optional for some models
are ABS brakes and side impact air bags. Parents can now freely take their youngsters
with them without any worry with the installed child safety locks.
