1994 Nissan Sentra
1994 Nissan Sentra comes equipped with two available engines, the 1.6-liter or
115-hp 4-cylinder and the 2.0-liter or 140-hp four-cylinder. Anti-braking system
is optional together with four-speed automatic transmission and 5-speed manual
transmission. Model line-up includes E, XE and GXE and GXE trim levels for the
4-door with the added sporty SE-R for 2-door.
Road test evaluation shows good results for this year model. The SE-R provides
smooth handling and can be compared with other European cars because of its sense
of refinement and competence. The acceleration of the 1.6-liter base engine is
much quicker than before due to the extra 20 horsepower, yet also added is excessive
road and engine noise.
Trouble spots for this year as supported by several recalls include corrosion
of the front coil springs due to loss of the protective paint coating and heavy
road salt exposure, loose exhaust gas recirculation and broken plastic front seat
belt release buttons allowing plastic pieces to fall into the buckle assembly.
